UPDATE: Late-Night Crash at Dam B Bridge Leads to DWI Arrest

BEECH GROVE, Texas — This story has been updated with additional information from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A Jasper man was arrested late Sunday night following a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 190 at the Dam B bridge, according to DPS troopers and the Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
At approximately 11:45 p.m., Beech Grove VFD was dispatched to the scene where a Nissan Titan had struck a guardrail and come to rest in the westbound lane. Firefighters arrived with Engine 11 and seven volunteers, finding the driver as the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Allegiance Mobile Health – Jasper EMS evaluated the driver, who reported no injuries and declined further medical treatment. The truck sustained significant damage and was removed from the scene by Jasper Xxon Towing and Recovery.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety – Southeast Texas Region, DPS Troopers determined the Nissan was traveling west when it failed to maintain a single lane and struck the guardrail. Troopers reported the driver appeared intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The driver, identified as 46-year-old Anthony Gore of Jasper, was arrested and booked into the Jasper County Jail on charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, both misdemeanors.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene. The roadway was closed for approximately 45 minutes while emergency crews cleared the wreckage.
