Late-Night Crash Damages Truck, Shuts Down Highway at Dam B Bridge

BEECH GROVE, Texas — Late Sunday night, Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department crews were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 190 at the Dam B bridge.
Firefighters were toned out at 11:45 p.m., arriving to find a Nissan Titan that had struck a guardrail and come to rest in the westbound lane of traffic. The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, told responders he was not injured.
Allegiance Mobile Health–Jasper EMS evaluated the man at the scene, but he declined transport or additional medical treatment. The truck sustained significant damage in the crash and was later removed by Jasper Xxon Towing and Recovery.
The accident is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety – Southeast Texas Region, with assistance from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. The roadway remained closed for roughly 45 minutes while crews cleared the scene.
Beech Grove VFD responded with Engine 11 and seven firefighters.
