Jasper, TX The Jasper County Sheriff's Office is still searching for a 15-year-old burglary suspect.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said that the suspect was caught in the act of burglarizing the logging equipment store on Hwy 190 yesterday, just passed the DPS office. The boy ran, but the Deputies were unable to catch him.
In our article yesterday, Havard said that the boys aunt was going to have his mother bring him to the Sheriff's Office once she got home. That did not happen, so the department ended up in a second foot chase with him today and he got away again. It is currently unknown if the boy went home last night or stayed in the woods.
Havard said, "We are working with the boys family to try to get him to surrender. He's already got an Evading Arrest charge, a Criminal Trespass, and 2 Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle charges. We just want him to turn himself in before things get worse."
