Back in November, we told our readers about a young Firefighter, 19-year-old Roy Marshall of Jasper who recently passed his EMT National Certification. This is a big deal for anyone, but he only graduated high school this past fall.
This week, Marshall finally did it! He worked hard and met his goal as a Firefighter/EMT when he graduated Deep East Texas College & Career Academy as a Certified Firefighter!
A Jasper Volunteer Fire Department Spokesperson said, "We might be more excited than Roy is for himself. Another milestone completed and one step closer to chasing your dream as a Fire Fighter/EMT. The big city is calling your name kid! Since you’ve joined us it’s been nothing but hard work and dedication to your craft. Keep pushing forward young man."
Marshalls dad, also Roy said, "He works for Allegiance Ambulance Service right now, but will be looking for a paid fire house to join in the near future."
Roy is a Jasper High School 2024 graduate and is a member of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Dept.
