Warren Jr. High Wins Back-to-Back UIL One Act Play Championships with “The Wizard of Oz”

WARREN, Texas — For the second year in a row, Warren Jr. High’s theatre program walked away champions, earning 1st Place at the UIL One Act Play competition with their vibrant performance of The Wizard of Oz, adapted by Melanie Spivey.


The cast and crew delivered a polished, heartfelt production that impressed judges from start to finish. Warren ISD praised the students for their dedication, creativity, and countless hours of rehearsal — all of which paid off on competition day.

“This group has poured so much time and dedication into every rehearsal, every prop, every costume, and every moment—and today it all paid off,” the district shared. “We couldn’t be more proud.”
