Warren, Texas – Warren Independent School District confirmed Thursday that an investigation took place at Warren High School after a student allegedly made a terroristic threat.

According to a statement released by the district, officials worked closely with local law enforcement to quickly resolve the situation. All students were reported safe, and school leaders emphasized that the safety and well-being of both students and staff remain their top priority.

“Swift action was taken to address the matter, and all directly affected parties have been notified,” WISD said in its statement.

While district officials did not release details about the student involved, they noted that federal privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), restrict the release of information regarding individual students.

The district also thanked law enforcement and the community for their continued support, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.

What is a “terroristic threat”?

Punishments can range from misdemeanor to felony charges depending on the nature of the threat and whether it impacts schools, public utilities, or government agencies.
