Wanted Felon Captured, Stolen RV recovered from Cougar Country
Buna, Tx: On February 21, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office were deployed to a residence off of County Road 715 in Buna to serve a Felony Burglary warrant. The suspect was located and arrested.
The suspect was identified as Billy Don McGalin, 69, of Buna.
Once the deputies placed McGalin under arrest, the deputies noticed a travel trailer covered with a tarp on the property. The deputies immediately recognized the trailer to be the one stolen in Cougar Country on February 15, 2025.
Mr. McGalin was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Jail. The stolen travel trailer investigation is still ongoing.
Mr. McGalin is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
The travel trailer will be immediately returned to the owner. I appreciate the hard work of our personnel and their awareness and vigilance while they’re conducting their duties in the county. We will always work very hard to bring people to justice when they take things that don’t belong to them. I’m very happy this travel trailer will be returned to the owner.
