Wanted Felon Arrested in Kirbyville Following Traffic Stop

KIRBYVILLE, Texas — A routine traffic stop in Kirbyville led to the arrest of a wanted felon out of San Augustine County, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies Spivey and Tipton were patrolling County Road 404 on Wednesday when they conducted a traffic stop for a violation. The driver, identified as Joshua Knighten, 45, of Woodville, was found to have an active felony warrant for Bail Jumping and Failure to Appear issued by San Augustine County.
The warrant was confirmed, and Knighten was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail for booking.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said his office remains committed to pursuing wanted individuals and maintaining community safety across Jasper County.
Knighten is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
