CALL JUNCTION, Texas — A Kirbyville man wanted on a felony warrant was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after law enforcement officers tracked him down at a residence in Call Junction.
According to Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard, deputies received information around 3 p.m. that James Mark Herrin, 62, of Kirbyville, was wanted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree felony.
Sheriff Havard and Kirbyville Police Department Officer Ashley Arce responded to a home on FM 1004 East, where they located Herrin and placed him under arrest without incident. Herrin was transported to the Jasper County Jail, where he awaits further court proceedings.
“Teamwork between local agencies continues to make a difference in keeping our communities safe,” Sheriff Havard said in a statement. “We’re committed to combating criminal activity throughout Jasper County.”
Herrin remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
