Update on power restoration in the Jasper area

Jasper, TX -

The City of Jasper:

Damage from the strong thunderstorms that passed through the area Tuesday morning here in Jasper.

Light and Power crews are out working to restore power at this time. Lee Wellman the Director of the Light and Power Department has been assessing the damage and advised they have multiple utility poles broken with trees on lines.

Crews have been cutting down trees and clearing streets and right of ways. Crews plan to have around 75% of City of Jasper customers power restored by tonight.

Some customers could be without power for up to 48 hours.

Mr. Wellman has requested help from New Braunfels Utilities and they have more crews enroute now.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we work to restore the power.
