Jasper, TX Tuesday morning, at approximately 9:15 AM, a man wanted in a shooting that happened over the weekend in Corrigan turned himself in at the Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard.
Sheriff Havard said the man, identified as 32-year-old Darius Hawthorne from Woodville, has 10 charges surrounding the shooting that happened on May 17, 2025.
Havard said, "We have no information on the victim at this time. The Texas Rangers are en route to the Jasper County Jail to interview him now. Mr. Hawthorne is currently in the Jasper County Jail waiting to be extradited back to Polk County."
As always, Hawthorne is considered innocent of all charges unless proven guilty in a court of law.
