Tyler County Man Arrested on Meth and Family Violence Charges Following Traffic Stop in Fred

TYLER COUNTY, Texas — A Colmesneil man was arrested on felony narcotics and assault charges following a traffic stop in the Fred area earlier this month, according to a press release from the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Bryan Weatherford reported that on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Tyler County deputies were patrolling the Fred area when they stopped a Chevrolet Malibu for a traffic violation on Farm-to-Market Road 92 near County Road 4635.
Deputies identified the driver as Dillon Clancy, 25, of Colmesneil. While speaking with Clancy, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, deputies discovered approximately 10.2 grams of methamphetamine concealed inside a cigarette carton located on the driver’s side floorboard.
Clancy was taken into custody and transported to the Tyler County Jail, where he was charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Clancy was also charged with Assault – Family Violence stemming from a separate investigation involving an alleged assault that occurred the prior evening on Private Road 8643 in Fred.
Justice of the Peace Tina Self set Clancy’s total bond at $95,000.
As with all criminal cases, Clancy is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
