Tyler County Emergency Management announce flood watch to include Jasper and Newton Counties
FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Tyler County as well as portions of Southeast Texas, including the following areas: Hardin, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Southern Jasper, and Southern Newton.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall amounts of 6 to 10 inches are expected across the
area with locally higher amounts. This watch will likely be
expanded in time and area as the event progresses.
