Two vehicle accident on Hwy 190 sends three to the hospital

Just before 5 pm Tuesday, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Hwy 190 West near county road 139. The accident sent multiple victims to the hospital. Initially, it was reported that one of the vehicles involved in the crash had visible smoke coming from the engine, however, there were no flames.  

 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Media Officer Shana Clark, a Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on Hwy 190, followed by a Chevrolet Silverado. It is reported that the driver of the Silverado failed to control her speed and struck the rear of the Impala when it stopped to make a left turn onto County Road 139. After impact, the Silverado struck a tree.

 

The driver of the Chevrolet Impala, identified as 23-year-old McKinsey Davenport of Jasper, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

 

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, identified as 30-year-old Kristina Curry of Brookeland, and an 11-year-old passenger were transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Two other passengers including a 15-year-old, and an 8-year-old were not injured.


Allegiance Mobile Health - Jasper EMS Units assisted the injured along with Jasper Volunteer Fire Department, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, Beech Grove VFD President, Jasper Xxon towing, and Hatch’s towing.
