UPDATED INFORMATION Two-vehicle accident involving Peterbilt sends one to the hospital Tuesday

Updated: our readers have pointed out that the names of the drivers were wrong in our original article. We checked back with DPS to verify their previous information, and this was their response:
"The investigator had the names of the drivers switched last night, but the contributing factor of the crash is still under investigation. Below is the updated release."
The driver of the Peterbilt, identified as 19-year-old Billy Rawls of Jasper, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 29-year-old Adam Ray of Kirbyville, was not injured.

Our original article
Just after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, a two vehicle accident, which included a Peterbilt truck, happened on Recreational Road 255, North of Jasper, sending one to the hospital.

According to the Department of Public Safety Media Sergeant Shana Clark, a 2017 Peterbilt truck towing a 2011 Big Tex utility trailer was traveling east on R.R. 255. At that same time, a 2017 Hyundai Elantra was turning right, off of County Road 44, onto R.R 255 and then immediately attempted to make a left turn into a private drive. It was at this point that the Peterbilt attempted to go around the Hyundai to the left and struck the Hyundai in the side.
The driver of the Peterbilt, identified as 29-year-old Adam Ray of Kirbyville, was not injured.
However, the driver of the Hyundai, identified as 19-year-old Billy Rawls of Jasper, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
