Two-Vehicle Accident in Evadale Construction Zone Wednesday

EVADALE, TX-
Wednesday evening at approximately 6:25 pm, a two-vehicle accident occurred on US Hwy 96 in a construction zone in Evadale.
According to the Department of Public Safety report, a 2020 Honda Accord driven by 35-year-old Joe Herrera of Buna, had one adult passenger and two child passengers. Herrera was traveling south on 96. This vehicle was followed by a 2024 Kia Sportage driven by 32-year-old Jamie Capo of Kountze, who had one child passenger.
DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said that the area was under construction and the Honda came to a stop due to a dump truck entering the roadway. Clark added that the Honda was then rear ended by the Kia.
There were no injuries reported.
