EVADALE, TX — Two Evadale ISD students were transported to the hospital following a three-vehicle accident Friday morning in front of the district’s administration building.
According to Evadale ISD officials, the accident occurred before school began and involved two students. Both were transported for medical evaluation and remain at the hospital with their parents. At this time, district officials say the students’ injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Other individuals were also injured in the accident. District leaders expressed concern for all those affected, while specifically acknowledging the two students and their families.
Evadale ISD extended its appreciation to the Evadale Volunteer Fire Department for its quick response and on-scene care, as well as to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department for assisting with traffic control and scene management. District personnel also acted swiftly to help divert traffic and secure the area to ensure student safety.
Orange County emergency responders also provided medical transport and assistance. District officials noted that emergency medical services in Jasper County are currently dispatched through a contracted provider located outside the immediate area. While that provider was dispatched according to protocol, Orange County was able to respond and assist once notified.
Evadale ISD expressed gratitude for the coordinated response of all agencies involved and asked the community to keep the students and others affected in their thoughts and prayers as they recover.
