Two Arrested in Sabine County Following Burglary and Trespass Incidents

HEMPHILL, Texas — Two men were arrested this week in connection with separate incidents in Sabine County that authorities say highlight the importance of neighbors reporting suspicious activity.

According to a February 27, 2026 press release from the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were first dispatched during the afternoon hours of February 26 to Rayburn Ridge in the far southwestern corner of the county after reports of a man walking around homes and checking open doors.

Deputies located and identified the individual as Robert Rodriguez Villarreal, 45, of Denison, Texas. A homeowner who was away from the residence was able to provide deputies with security camera footage and a description of Villarreal’s actions. Villarreal was arrested for Criminal Trespass of a Residence.

Authorities also discovered Villarreal had an outstanding Parole Warrant through the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). He was additionally identified as a person of interest in home invasion cases in Shelby County. Villarreal remains in the Sabine County Jail without bond.

In a separate incident on the morning of February 27 around 9:00 a.m., deputies were contacted by a concerned neighbor regarding an unknown vehicle parked at a residence on Plainview Road. The neighbor provided a photograph of the vehicle, including the rear license plate, to deputies.

Shortly after, deputies observed the vehicle traveling eastbound on State Highway 184 and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Brandon Scott Aldridge, 38, of Groves, Texas.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, property belonging to the Plainview Road homeowner was found inside Aldridge’s pants pocket and inside the vehicle he was operating. Additional deputies responding to the residence discovered forced entry through the front door.

Aldridge was taken into custody for Burglary of a Habitation and transported to the Sabine County Jail, where he awaits bond.

The Sabine County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that these arrests demonstrate the impact of neighbors reporting unusual or suspicious activity, encouraging residents to continue the practice of “If you see something, say something.”
