On Saturday morning, around 9:00 AM, Jasper County Sergeant Cody Christopher was called out to a disturbance on Hwy 63 near the Double Heart RV park.

Upon arrival, Sergeant Christopher discovered that one of the suspects in the disturbance was in possession, 11.5 grams of methamphetamines. 47-year-old Jared Brantley of Lumberton was then placed under arrest.
Sergeant Christopher tried to get some information about the disturbance from the female suspect, but she quickly became uncooperative. The female was identified as 42-year-old Tracy Turner of Burkeville.
Sergeant Christopher attempted to arrest Turner, but a struggle ensued. Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said that the struggle went on to the point that a passing motorist called 911 to inform dispatch that there was a roadside struggle.
Finally, Sergeant Christopher was able to detain Turner before Jasper police arrived.
Turner was arrested on a Class A Misdemeanor charge of Resisting Arrest, Search, and/or Transport.
Brantley was charged with a 2nd Degree Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 4G<200G. They were both transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Havard again reminds the public, "Both of these individuals are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law."
