TRINITY COUNTY, Texas — Polls are open today from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM as Trinity County residents head to the polls to cast ballots on two local issues that could shape county infrastructure and school facilities for years to come.
Voters will see the following items on the ballot:
Trinity County Jail Bond
Would fund construction of a new county jail facility.
County officials have stated the current jail is aging, overcrowded, and no longer meets long-term capacity and compliance needs.
If approved, the bond would provide financing to build a modern facility that meets state jail standards.
Groveton ISD School Bond
(Appears only for voters who live within Groveton ISD boundaries.)
Would fund school facility upgrades and improvements throughout the district.
Groveton ISD leadership has said the bond is intended to address aging infrastructure and classroom needs.
This morning, Trinity County Sheriff Woody A. Wallace encouraged residents to take part in today’s election and make their own informed choices.
“Voting is not just a right — it’s a responsibility. Don’t let anyone tell you how you should vote. Vote your conscience, your faith, and what you believe is best for our community.”— Sheriff Woody A. Wallace
Wallace added that voters should take time to pray and seek guidance before casting their ballot.
A list of polling locations will be posted as soon as election officials release the countywide site list.
Polls remain open until 7:00 PM.
Your vote is your voice.
