VIDOR, Texas — Officers with the Vidor Police Department seized more than 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm during a traffic stop conducted on February 9, 2026, according to department officials.
Police stated that officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. During the course of the stop, a Vidor Police K9 was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle. After the K9 gave a positive alert, officers conducted a search of the vehicle.
The search resulted in the seizure of over 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with a firearm. The suspect was taken into custody and is currently facing multiple felony charges.
Vidor Police officials emphasized that the presence of both narcotics and a firearm highlights the dangerous nature of drug trafficking activity within the community.
“This arrest demonstrates our officers’ dedication to keeping Vidor safe,” the department stated. “The removal of over 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine prevents immeasurable harm to our citizens. We will continue to aggressively pursue those who bring drugs and violence into our community. Our K9 unit remains a vital tool in the fight against illegal drugs.”
As with all criminal cases, the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
