JASPER, Texas — A Saturday morning traffic stop turned into a series of arrests and drug-related charges after Jasper Police officers pulled over a vehicle in the 1100 block of South Wheeler.
Officers initially detained Frank Pugh and Devin Gilbert after discovering methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Once at the jail, additional meth was reportedly found on Gilbert, leading to further charges.
During the same stop, police identified Kendrick Kyle, a wanted fugitive with several outstanding warrants, including narcotics and evading charges. While in custody, Kyle allegedly damaged a patrol unit, resulting in an added criminal mischief charge.
Kyle also told officers he had left children unattended at the Roadway Inn. When police checked the location, no children were found. However, officers encountered Patricia Hudson, who reportedly provided false identification and was arrested after contraband and methamphetamine were discovered in the room.
The Jasper Police Department expressed appreciation to the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force and Precinct 2 Constable Niles Nichols for their assistance during the investigation.
Police say this case serves as another example of their ongoing commitment to keeping drugs and fugitives off Jasper’s streets.
