Traffic backed up considerably in Kirbyville for what appeared to many to be an accident

Shortly after 6 Friday evening, Kirbyville Police were called to the Main and Hwy 96 red light for what appeared to onlookers to be an accident involving an 18-Wheeler.

Traffic was backed up considerably, but Kirbyville Police Sergeant Josh Hancock said that it was just a freak incident. The drive shaft fell out from under it and the truck had to be towed.

Traffic cleared quickly once the truck was towed.
