ree

JASPER COUNTY, Texas — Todd Stott has formally announced his candidacy for Jasper County Commissioner, Precinct 2.

A near lifelong resident of Jasper County, Stott moved to the area with his parents at an early age and graduated from Jasper High School in 1991. He and his wife, Christie, have been married for 13 years and are the proud parents of five children—Caston, Cayne, Izabel, Tyler, and Ryan—as well as seven grandchildren.

For the past 20 years, Stott has been employed with Rural Pipe and Supply, where he says he has gained extensive experience in hard work, responsibility, and a commitment to supporting local communities. He is also a lifelong member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and has served with the Knights of Columbus since 2022.

Public service, Stott says, has been a guiding principle throughout his life. Since 2018, he has served with the Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department, where he holds certifications as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Officer I, and Instructor I. He currently serves as Station Captain and Commander of the Honor Guard.

Stott also serves on the Upper Jasper County Water Authority Board, where he says he has worked to ensure transparency, fiscal accountability, and compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act and Public Information Act while overseeing the financial and operational responsibilities of a public utility.

In announcing his candidacy, Stott outlined his priorities if elected:

  • Fiscal Responsibility: Prudent and transparent management of taxpayer funds.

  • Infrastructure: Maintaining and improving county roads and addressing drainage concerns.

  • Public Safety: Strengthening and supporting first responders and emergency services.

  • Workforce Development: Partnering with schools, businesses, and nonprofits to expand opportunities for local youth.

  • Collaboration: Working with fellow commissioners, leaders, and stakeholders to promote growth and well-being across Precinct 2 and Jasper County.

“Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to serving our community—whether responding to emergencies, safeguarding water resources, or volunteering in various capacities,” Stott said. “I am committed to bringing the same dedication, integrity, and leadership to the office of County Commissioner for Precinct 2. Respectfully, I ask for your support, your prayers, and your vote as we work together to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Jasper County.”
