Evadale, Texas – Two firefighters were injured Monday evening when an Evadale Fire Rescue medical truck crashed while responding to an emergency call on FM 105.

Jasper County Precinct 6 Constable Chad Ainsworth said Med Truck 1201 suffered a blowout to its front driver’s side tire in the 6800 block of FM 105. The truck left the roadway, struck a culvert, went airborne, and landed on a fence at 6840 FM 105.

Both firefighters inside were transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

Orange County EMS was dispatched to assist at the scene.

“This was simply a case of equipment failure — a front tire blowout — that turned into a serious situation,” Ainsworth said. “Thankfully, the firefighters are expected to be okay, and we’re grateful it wasn’t worse.”
