Tight Race at Rayburn as Juniors Gear Up for Final Round

It’s been a fantastic weekend on the greens at the AJGA Junior at Rayburn Resort, where the competition is heating up ahead of Sunday morning’s final round. With tee times starting at 8:00 AM, all eyes will be on the leaderboard as the region’s top junior golfers battle it out for championship honors.
Boys Division: Turner Takes the Lead
Rhett Turner of Tomball, Texas, leads the Boys Division heading into the final round with a consistent and impressive two-round total of 138 (-4) after posting back-to-back 69s. Hot on his heels in a three-way tie for second at 139 (-3) are:
Nicholas Lyman (Surprise, Ariz.)
Gabriel Hull (South Daytona, Fla.)
Hudson Greene (Bossier City, La.)
They’ll be joined by Blake Goodnight of Dallas and Jace Hulett of Boerne, who are just two strokes off the lead at 140 (-2).
The top ten is packed with talent, with eight players sitting at 141 (-1), making Sunday’s final round one to watch closely.
Girls Division: Juliet Oh Holds On
Over in the Girls Division, Juliet Oh of Diamond Bar, California, remains steady at the top of the board, carding identical rounds of 72 for a total of 144 (E). Close behind, tied for second at 146 (+2), are:
Eileen Park (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada)
Honorine Nobuta Ferry (Flower Mound, Texas)
La Canada’s Katie Park sits in fourth at 147 (+3), with a tightly packed group right behind her, including Lydia Portlock of San Antonio and Jade Neves of New Orleans at 148 (+4).
One attendee summed up the mood perfectly: “It has been a great weekend.” Despite a few shifts in the weather, the high-level golf and supportive crowds have made for an unforgettable experience. Rayburn Resort has once again proven to be a fitting and welcoming host for this prestigious junior tournament.
