Thunderstorms expected overnight and your 7 Day Forecast

Late tonight, a line of showers and thunderstorms is expected after midnight to drop south into the Lakes Area and then weaken as it approaches the Triangle.

Late Friday, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected due to upper-level disturbances, ample atmospheric moisture, an uncapped atmosphere with instability and a May cold front.

Scattered morning showers are expected Saturday with slightly cooler temperatures.

Chilly mornings and sunny, warm afternoons are expected Sunday and Monday with lower humidity.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast next Wednesday the 7th.

Future radar at 4 AM Thursday morning shows a line of showers and thunderstorms working into the area from north Texas. IF they hold together they will arrive between 2-6 AM. Slight risk for the Lakes Area.

We will have a chance of storms later tonight especially in the Lakes area. Image below is for late Friday with a front and a strong disturbance aloft. 70% coverage for Friday afternoon and evening.

Showers, storms likely late Friday as a May cold front pushes into SE Texas. Chilly mornings are expected Sunday and Monday, but certainly not record-breaking.
