Three-Vehicle Crash Near Call Junction Sends Two to Hospital

JASPER COUNTY – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday night, October 8, on U.S. Highway 96 near Call Junction.
According to DPS, the crash happened around 8:15 p.m. when a 2020 Chevrolet Suburban traveling north reportedly pulled onto the shoulder to make a U-turn but turned when it was unsafe, directly into the path of a 2024 Nissan Sentra also traveling north. The Sentra struck the Suburban, which then overturned and was subsequently hit by a 2022 Hyundai Palisade traveling south.
The driver of the Suburban, 48-year-old Lori Edmonds of Kirbyville, was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Sentra, 24-year-old Justin Booth of Newton, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, also with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Palisade, 75-year-old Vickie Jordan of Kirbyville, was not injured.
DPS reports that the crash remains under investigation.
No further information has been released at this time.
