In a Facebook post, the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department said, "For those of you seeing the large plume of smoke to the east. That is from a marsh fire and the wind is blowing the smoke in our direction.
As always though if you smell or see smoke and are concerned please do not hesitate to report it. We do not mind coming to check it out. In these dry times, we would rather be safe than sorry. We take our commitment to the community seriously."
