Texas Rangers are investigating an assault on a Polk County inmate. Three jailers have been arrested

POLK COUNTY - At the request of Polk County Sheriff's Office TX, Sheriff Byron Lyons, the Texas Rangers (DPS) initiated an investigation of an incident that occurred on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in which a Polk County Jailer was accused of initiating the assault of an inmate inside the Polk County Jail.

The assaulted inmate is identified as a 34-year-old male from Kingwood.

The involved Polk County Sheriff’s Office jailers were identified as 27-year-old Ty Paredes of Shepherd, 29-year-old Christopher Damian of Livingston, and 31-year-old Agapito Correa of Conroe. The three Polk County Sheriff’s Office jailers were arrested by the Texas Rangers and charged with aggravated assault by a public servant, which is a felony offense.

This is an active and ongoing investigation, no further information is available.
