After a stormy start to the week, residents across the area should remain weather-aware as more rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through Thursday, with the potential for heavy rain, lightning, and localized flooding. But the good news is, drier and sunnier weather is expected by the weekend.
Tuesday Outlook:
Rain is expected to linger into mid-morning, followed by a dry and warm afternoon with partly cloudy skies and highs nearing 89°.
Midweek Storm Risk:
The quiet spell won’t last long. Forecasters are calling for unsettled weather Wednesday and Thursday, with a 70% chance of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across the region. Lows will remain in the mid-70s, and highs will hover in the mid-80s. Isolated flooding or wind damage may occur during heavier storms.
Weekend Relief:
A weak front arriving Friday morning is expected to bring in a drier air mass, clearing the skies just in time for the weekend. Forecast models currently show:
Saturday & Sunday: Dry conditions
Morning lows: Upper 60s
Afternoon highs: Mid to upper 80s
Humidity: Slightly lower and more comfortable
It’ll be a welcome break from the rain for those planning outdoor events, family cookouts, or travel.
The East Texas Banner will continue to provide weather updates throughout the week. Stay safe!
