Storm at Sam Rayburn caused a tree to fall on a home

Around 6:50 pm Lake Rayburn Volunteer Fire Department and Jasper County ESD 4 were called out to the 300 block of private road 6070 in the area of The Point at Rayburn Country to assist with removing a large pine tree that had fallen onto and into the roof of a home on Lake Sam Rayburn.

ETB reporter, Rita Shipp was on the scene and spoke with the homeowner who stated that the large pine tree from next door fell onto their roof during a storm this evening, causing water from the storm to immediately begin to pour in through the roof.

There were no injuries reported and as of 8:40 pm, first responders were still working to get the tree from the roof of the home while dealing with another round of rain.
