Stolen Truck Recovered in Jasper County Following Community Tip

JASPER COUNTY, Texas — Jasper County deputies and investigators recovered a stolen truck Wednesday evening following a tip from the community, according to Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard.
On the evening of January 7, 2026, deputies received information regarding a vehicle that may have been involved in the theft of a truck from STI in Buna. During the course of the investigation, authorities were provided with a possible location of the stolen vehicle.
Deputies searched the area and located the truck hidden in a wooded area in Cougar Country. The vehicle was recovered and towed, and has been made available for release back to STI.
The investigation remains active, and no arrests have been announced at this time.
Sheriff Chuck Havard thanked members of the community for providing information that helped lead to the recovery.
“We want to thank our citizens in the community for always giving us information to help us with these cases,” Sheriff Havard said.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says investigators are continuing to follow leads and expect further developments.
Sheriff Havard and his staff remain committed to combating criminal activity and protecting the residents and businesses of Jasper County.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
