Standoff press release from Jasper County

Yesterday afternoon around 5:30pm JCSO received a call for a verbal disturbance at a residence on FM 1004 W in Buna. 

When deputies arrived and made contact with a male subject in the residence, the male fired a shot at the deputy. The male then barricaded himself in the home, and officers with JCSO, KPD, and DPS responded. After several hours of negotiations, and efforts to have the male subject voluntarily exit the home, officers made entry and were able to safely get the subject to a hospital in Beaumont.
