As the city of Chester grapples with a critical water shortage, help has arrived from the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Disaster Relief (SBTC DR). The organization has deployed a shower trailer to provide relief to residents without access to running water.

The trailer, now stationed at the Chester Fire Department (141 Cade St.), is open to the public and available for use while the city works through the emergency.

“We are here to support the community,” said SBTC DR Director Scottie Stice. “We are honored to serve the residents of the city of Chester and are working in cooperation with the mayor.”

SBTC Disaster Relief volunteers have been coordinating directly with local leadership to ensure the resource is accessible and ready to meet the needs of Chester residents.

The Southern Baptists of Texas Convention is made up of over 2,800 churches, with more than 6,000 trained disaster relief volunteers who routinely respond to crises across the state and beyond.

Residents are encouraged to share this resource with neighbors and continue following local updates for additional support efforts.
