Sabine County Sheriff’s Office releases December report, year-end 2025 review

The Sabine County Sheriff’s Office has released its December 2025 activity report along with a comprehensive year-end review detailing jail operations, patrol activity, investigative work, and associated costs throughout the year.
December 2025 snapshot
During the month of December, the Sabine County Jail housed 35 inmates, with 17 local inmates and 18 housed out of county. Deputies made 33 arrests, averaging 1.06 arrests per day.
Jail-related expenses for the month included $23,715 in local housing costs, $31,620 for out-of-county housing, and $1,181 in medical expenses, bringing the total inmate housing cost to $56,516. Deputies conducted 10 inmate transports, logging 1,678 miles, with $1,845 in transport costs.
Patrol activity for December included 198 traffic stops and 538 calls for service, along with 325 calls handled for other agencies, for a total of 863 service calls. Of those, 204 were 911 calls. Investigators issued 43 case numbers and filed 12 narcotics cases during the month.
2025 year-end totals
For the full year of 2025, the Sabine County Jail housed a total of 379 inmates, including 163 local inmates and 194 out-of-county inmates. Deputies made 367 arrests, averaging just over one arrest per day.
Annual jail expenses totaled $654,054, which included $120,420 in local housing costs, $365,940 in out-of-county housing, and $55,094 in medical costs. Deputies completed 260 inmate transports, including 31 to TDCJ, traveling 41,557 miles at a total transport cost of $66,870.
Patrol deputies conducted 2,660 traffic stops and responded to 4,888 calls for service in 2025. When combined with 3,686 calls for other agencies, the Sheriff’s Office handled 8,574 total calls for service, including 2,051 911 calls.
Investigative activity for the year included 511 case numbers issued and 120 narcotics cases filed.
