RodeoHouston Scholarships Open to East Texas Students; Deadline Approaching

Texas students, including those in Newton, Jasper, and surrounding East Texas counties, have an opportunity to receive financial support for college through the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (RodeoHouston) scholarship program, with the application deadline quickly approaching.

RodeoHouston officials say scholarship applications are currently open and must be submitted by February 2. The program helps Texas students pursue higher education by providing financial assistance across a wide range of academic fields and career paths.

Each year, RodeoHouston awards millions of dollars in scholarships to students statewide, making it one of the largest scholarship programs in Texas.

To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizens and Texas residents, be graduating high school seniors from eligible schools, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), plan to attend an accredited, not-for-profit university in Texas, and meet minimum SAT or ACT score requirements.

Local Go Texan committees and school districts often encourage students and families to take advantage of the opportunity, which can help offset the rising cost of college tuition and expenses.

Students and parents can find full eligibility requirements, scholarship categories, and application details by visiting the official RodeoHouston scholarship website at:

With the deadline approaching, students are encouraged to begin the application process as soon as possible.
