JASPER, Texas — The City of Jasper has awarded a contract to Texas Materials Group to begin major improvements on Hi-Truitt Road and nearby streets on the north side of town.
Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, October 1, and will continue for several months. The project will cover Hi-Truitt Road from Highway 96 north for approximately 1,800 feet, as well as Temple Drive and Temple Spur.
The scope of work includes installing new drainage, removing and grinding old asphalt, and laying down new base material. High-traffic intersections in the project area will receive concrete paving, while other sections will be resurfaced with new asphalt.

City officials note that traffic along these routes will remain open during the project, but drivers should expect periodic delays.
“We appreciate the public’s patience while this much-needed work is being performed,” the city said in its announcement.
