Reviving Browndell: Community Center & Playground Needs Your Help

BROOKELAND, Texas — The Browndell Community Center and Playground, located at 291 Circle Dr. in Brookeland, is in need of repairs to ensure local youth can continue enjoying the facility safely. Community leaders are asking for public support to help bring the center back to life for families across the area.
Current Projects
Organizers say several immediate repairs are needed:
Repairing the basketball court
Replacing seats and chains on the swing set
Replacing broken bench seats
Long-Term Projects
Looking ahead, larger upgrades are also on the list:
Replacing outdated playground equipment
Refurbishing the volleyball courts and baseball field
“It’s not just about fixing a court or swing — it’s about giving our community a place to come together."

How to Help
Community members are encouraged to get involved by donating funds, supplies, or volunteering their time. Anyone interested can reach out directly to Connie Purkey at 409-224-2567.
