Recognize This Truck? Suspect Seen Using Red and Blue Lights in Burkeville Area

BURKEVILLE, Texas — The Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department is warning residents to be on the lookout for a gray pickup truck reportedly seen multiple times using red and blue emergency-style lights in and around the Burkeville area.

The alert comes after Burkeville VFD Fire Chief Charles Duckworth shared a post on Facebook Friday morning asking the public for help identifying the driver. According to Duckworth, a white male driving a gray pickup has been observed at least three times attempting to appear as a first responder by running red and blue lights and following emergency vehicles to calls.

Chief Duckworth said the truck was spotted early Friday morning leaving a Burkeville convenience store headed toward Jasper, again with the lights flashing. Another witness later saw the same vehicle near Jamestown.

“Anyone in Burkeville recognize this truck?” Duckworth wrote. “This is the third time he’s been caught running red and blue lights in and around Burkeville. I will have whoever it is prosecuted — this is impersonating a First Responder or Fire Department.”

Duckworth confirmed the truck is gray in color. Surveillance photos shared online appear to show the vehicle at a Burkeville gas station early Friday morning, before it was reportedly seen traveling toward Jasper.

Following Chief Duckworth’s post, Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard, Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard, and Jasper Police Chief Garrett Foster each commented, confirming that their agencies are on the lookout for the vehicle.

Anyone who recognizes the truck or its driver is urged to contact the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, or Jasper Police Department.
