Possible drowning update

5 pm Search Update on February 19, 2024, at the Hwy 190 East bridge

We continued our search today with negative results.  We flew the area

with a Drone from the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office and searched the

water and shoreline by boats using sonar equipment.  

Searchers today were members of the Newton County Sheriff's Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Bon Wier, Merryville, and Deweyville Volunteer Fire Departments, and Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office.

The Pastor and members of the Bon Wier United Pentecostal Church visited with the family.  We are thankful and appreciate the food and drinks provided by Bon Wier Pentecostal Church, and the Blue Line

Advocates.  

The search will continue in the morning.
