Planned Power Outage to Affect Weirgate Area in Newton County on Tuesday

Residents served by the Weirgate Substation, Circuits 2 and 4, should prepare for a planned power outage scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The outage will allow crews from Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc. to safely complete system upgrades. Impacted areas include parts of FM 1415, FM 802, FM 2991, and State Highway 63 E within the Weirgate and Bleakwood communities.

The utility provider emphasized that the work is essential for long-term reliability and safety of the electric system. Affected members are encouraged to plan accordingly.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding while we complete these important improvements,” the cooperative stated.
