One-Vehicle Rollover Accident South of Kirbyville

The vehicle went across Highway 96, struck a culvert, rolled over, and landed in a creek bed

KIRBYVILLE, TX-

Just after 7:00 pm Sunday, Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department, Kirbyville Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety were called out to 21537 Highway 96 South of Kirbyville for a one-vehicle accident.

The caller stated that the car rolled over and that the driver had head injuries. No additional information was given at the time.

According to the report, 55-year-old David Griggs of Kirbyville was driving South in a 2020 Mitsubishi passenger car when he somehow traveled off the road to the left into the North bound lane, struck a culvert and traveled into a creek bed.

Griggs was checked out by Jasper EMS on scene, and Hatches Towing was called to remove the vehicle.
