ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING INVESTIGATION – Tall Timbers, Toledo Bend:

In a press release, Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby said, "On Friday, February 9, we interviewed both individuals involved in the accidental shooting. The shooting victim is currently released from the hospital and is home recovering from his wound. We interviewed him and obtained his version of the incident that occurred on January 27, 2024.

No other action is anticipated at this time.

Original Press Release: On Saturday, January 27,2004 at 29:51 pm, NCSO Dispatchers received a call of an accidental shooting that occurred in the 200 Block of Tall Timbers at Toledo Bend.

The Caller stated that she accidently shot her husband in the lower abdomen. At 2117 hours, Deputies arrived on the scene. The victim was prepared for transport by Toledo Bend VFD First Responders. The victim was transported by Allegiance to Jasper Memorial Hospital. He was later transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is currently

listed in critical condition.
