Off-duty Deputy arrested two women in an altercation at a school function in Buna

Buna, Tx Even off-duty, a Jasper County Deputy was still in protect and serve mode at a school function in Buna.

On Tuesday evening, Buna High School was having an end of the year function for the students. Parents and others were there, including off-duty Jasper County Deputy Matt Harrell.
While there, Harrell saw a woman assault another woman on school grounds.
Deputy Harrell broke up the fight and placed the suspect under arrest for Assault. While trying to get that suspect under control, another fight broke out. While Harrell attempted to break up the secondary fight, another woman interfered with Deputy Harrell and was also arrested.
34-year-old Joanna Michelle Wilson of Buna was arrested for Assault Bodily Injury-Class A Misdemeanor and 34-year-old Samantha Artie Bohler, also of Buna, was arrested and charged with Interfering with the Duties of a Public Servant- Class B Misdemeanor.
Both women were transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said, "This type of conduct is uncalled for and unacceptable and will not be tolerated".
