Obituary of Wilma Sue Whitten

June 7, 1939 - February 19, 2026

Wilma Sue Hutchison Whitten, 86 of Mauriceville, previously of Call passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral service will be 10 am, Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Davis Cemetery in Beulah Springs. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Monday, February 23, 2026, at the funeral home.

She was born June 7, 1939, to Dewitt Hutchison and Evylynn (Davis) in Call, Tx. Sue’s life revolved around church and family. She loved Jesus and raised her family to know and love Jesus. She loved to sing and worship. Sue dedicated her life as a mother and grandmother making sure everyone was clean, clothed, and well fed.

She is survived by her children, Susanne Whitten, Ed Whitten and Janis, Doug Whitten and Sheila, Lisa Brasseaux and Brian, Cindy Childress and David; sister, Judy Kirbow; brothers, Talmadge Hutchison, Ronald Hutchison; grandchildren, Kenneth Welch, Ashley Jones, Brandon Brasseaux, Brittany Billingsley, Brooke Brasseaux, Tyler Whitten, Ryan Whitten, Stephanie Wicker, Ethan Childress, Nathan Childress; 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband of 63 years, Herman Edward Whitten; parents, Dewitt and Evelynn Hutchison; brother, Huey Whittaker.
