Robbie Lou Gibson Ainsworth, 90 of Kirbyville passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Avalon Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be 2 pm, Monday, February 16, 2026 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Antioch cemetery in Buna. Visitation will begin at 1 pm prior to service.
Born March 29, 1935 in rural San Augustine County to Amos Jefferson Gibson and Effie Mae (Ray) Gibson, she was a resident of Kirbyville for many years. Robbie loved to travel and was an avid gardener. She retired from Jasper- Newton Electrical Cooperative’s accounting department after 37 years of service. She was a faithful member of Bridge City United Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by brother, Larry Gibson and Aline of Kirbyville; sisters-in-law, Janice Gibson of Leesville, LA and Lavina Gibson of Hemphill; stepdaughter, Debbie Causey and Arlen of Orange; stepson, Keith Ainsworth and Carol of Orange; nephews, Charles E Gibson and Stephanie of Evadale, Jeff Ellis and Susan of Omaha, NB, Lyndon Ellis and Robyn of Lansing, Kansas, Randall Gibson and Diane of Leesville, LA; nieces, Darla Gill of Leesville, LA, Meletta Stephens and Dale of Silsbee, Leah Sparks and Chad of Mansfield, TX, Tina Ellis and Stephen of Wahoo, NB, Christy Gibson of Kirbyville, Misty Gibson of Kirbyville; many step grandchildren, great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Harry Ainsworth; parents, Rev Amos J Gibson and Effie Mae Ray Gibson; brothers, Rev Thomas A Gibson, Charles R Gibson, Marvin J (Gip) Gibson; sister, Evie Mryle Ellis; stepdaughters, Janet Bebee and Rhonda Sanders.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the friends and neighbours who graciously helped care for Robbie in recent years when family members were unavailable. Their kindness and support brought comfort and reassurance during that time. We are especially thankful to Sidney Monk, Garrett Aranda, Glenda Aranda and Gilbert Aranda for their compassion and generosity.
