Obituary of Rita M. Shadow Seiley

February 1, 1946 - December 5, 2025

Rita M. Shadow Seiley, 79, of Kirbyville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on December 5, 2025.

Born in Ashland, Wisconsin, to Steve and Ruth Karaba, she lived in Kerrville before moving to Kirbyville, Texas. She worked for James Avery in Kerrville, where she enjoyed talking with the many people she came in contact with. Rita was a Godly woman who worshiped her Lord with all her heart. She extended this love to her family, especially her grandchildren, who were given special nicknames that she said fit each one perfectly. An excellent cook, she loved canning and gardening, as well as sewing for her family.

Rita is preceded in death by her father, Steve J. Karaba; mother, Ruth E. Carbon Karaba; first husband, James Shadow, Sr.; and siblings, Leo Karaba, Tommy Karaba, and Gerry Karaba.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Seiley of Kirbyville; daughter, Sharon Pintsch and husband, Keith of Kerrville; sons, James M. Shadow of Desoto, Missouri, Tony Shadow and wife, Rachel of Kirbyville, Steven Shadow and wife, Mindy of Houston; grandchildren Caitlin Shadow, Amber Pintsch, James Shadow, Cody Shadow, Gracie Shadow, Faith Shadow, Hunter Shadow, Vicky Mannon and husband Mikael , Lexi Shadow, Aaron Shadow, Delaney Shadow, Ruth Ann Newton, Samantha Williams, Joshua Newton, and Keuna Antoine; great grandchildren, Everleigh, Samuel, Greyson, Daxton, Luke, Kallie, Lily, Cooper, Declan and Brylee; siblings, Andrew Karaba and Theresa Stolarzyk, other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 5 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home.
