Obituary of Raymond Lane

October 3, 1949 - December 27, 2025


Raymond Lane, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail, Colorado.


Please respect Raymond’s family preference for a small gathering for his funeral, 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas with burial to follow at Newton City Cemetery.


Everyone will be welcome to attend a Celebration of Raymond’s Life, which will be scheduled after January 1, 2026 at The Woodlands Methodist Church in The Woodlands, Texas. Raymond’s family wants to thank you for your prayers, love and understanding.


A native of Newton, former resident of Jasper, Beaumont and Peachtree City, GA, Raymond had been a resident of The Woodlands, Texas for the past 15 years.


Raymond was a 1968 graduate of Newton High School. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1972. At SFA he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. For over 44 years he had a career in the Highway Construction Industry. He retired in 2016 as Region President of Texas for Old Castle Materials, Inc. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf in his retirement with his wife Kim and friends. He loved having family gatherings. As members of The Woodlands Methodist Church, he and Kim enjoyed serving as greeters.


Raymond is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kim Lane of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter Jenny Garza and husband, Stephen of Cypress, Texas; son, Jordan Lane of Houston, Texas; brother, Odis Lane and wife Kathy of Kirbyville, Texas; sisters, Christine Shofner of Grapeland, Texas and Dorothy Franks and husband Earl of Merryville, LA; brothers-in-laws, Danny Johnson of Starks, LA and Brian Brindle of Jasper, Texas and grandson, Andrew Garza.


He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Carl Raymond Lane, Sr. and Mary Mailhos Lane Sprouse and sister, Carlene Johnson.
