Obituary of Randall Lamar Howard

July 26, 1948 - November 21, 2025

Randall Lamar Howard, 77, of Johnson City, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, after a short illness.

Randall graduated from Lamar University and worked across north America from the Alaskan coast to the coast of Texas as an environmental scientist. He retired from Freese and Nichols, Inc. in Austin, Texas.

Randall was born in Woodville, Texas and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman, with a great sense of humor. Each fall for the last forty years he made his way to Wyoming for his favorite hunting trip with friends. A generous and faithful friend, he definitely will be missed.

Randall is survived by Ruth Riegel of Hutton, Illinois, and stepson Clifford Harrison of Lafayette, Indiana, and numerous family and friends, including recent caregivers and good friends Patrick and Stasi Garnett.

Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lamar Howard and Ida Estelle Seamans Howard, his sister Nelda Rae Howard, and stepfather Kenneth Wallace.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Seamans Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas. Officiating will be Brother Kevin McCluskey.

Services are under the direction of Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville, Texas.
